Why Architecture for Kids?
Studies show that kids decide as early as 7-12 years old whether they will continue to consider careers in STEM, or if they will write it off entirely.
Architecture and Design are all around us. Everything that wasn’t made by mother nature was conceptualized, designed, and created by a person. That is a powerful concept that can open kid’s minds to look at their surroundings with a new perspective!
Do your kids love to build towers, cities, or playgrounds? Do they play with Legos, blocks, or doll houses? Inspire them to take the next step and help them make the connection to the real world.
The Key Building Blocks
Spacial Awareness
Students will learn the relationship between architecture, interior design, sustainability and the environment.
Confidence Building
Students get hands-on experience of designing and constructing their own structures also increases their self-esteem, as they see their ideas come to life and are proud of their accomplishment.
Cognitive Improvement
Students can improve cognitive development by enhancing problem-solving skills, spatial reasoning, and creativity.
Creative Problem Solving
Students will explore their ideas with two-dimensional drawings and transform them into three-dimensional models.
Integrity and Achievement
By exploring and designing structures, kids in architecture class learn the importance of integrity and perseverance in achieving their goals and creating successful projects.
Real World Understanding
Through hands-on projects and discussions on building design and construction techniques, kids gain a tangible understanding of the concepts and processes involved in creating real-world structures in an architecture class.
